Arasan Announces Industry’s First SoundWire v1.1 Master & Slave IP Controller Cores

Arasan Chip Systems, a leading provider of semiconductor IP for mobile and automobile SoCs, today publicly announced the availability of its MIPI SoundWire Master & Slave IP Cores optimized for ultra-low gate count and latency.

Arasan today announced the immediate availability of its MIPI SoundWire Master & Slave IP cores compliant to the latest MIPI SoundWire Specification v1.1.  Arasan’s SoundWire IP Cores are fully configurable across multiple parameters through simple scripts based on the customer’s specifications making it suitable for a variety of audio applications.  Arasan’s SoundWire IP has been validated and is readily useable with VIP from major EDA Vendors.

The major differences between v1.0 and v1.1 are:

Configurable port direction – allows the Data Port to be either Sink or Source at run time

Reduced Data Port – specifies certain optional features and registers to provide more flexibility compared to Simplified Data Port

      BRA Failure interrupt

Arasan Soundwire v 1.1 IP Cores have already been released as an update to all of Arasan’s Customers. “Arasan has been a contributing member of the MIPI Association since 2005 and our expertise in delivering IP solutions for audio interfaces is deep with I2S and SlimBus preceding our SoundWire IP for over a decade,” said Sam Beal, Marketing Director at Arasan.
